First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion Preparation

The Arlington Diocese requires a two-year preparation period for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion.  The preparation for this Sacrament is normally started in the 1st Grade.  Students receive First Holy Communion after they have received First Penance; normally at the end of their second year of preparation.

New students entering at the 2nd Grade level must have had one year of catechesis or they must be able to pass a placement test.

Students (3rd Grade and above) who have not made their First Holy Communion and who are older than the grade level in which this sacrament is normally received, must attend the Special Sacramental Preparation class on Monday evening in addition to their normal academic grade level class in order to receive the instruction and preparation for this sacrament.
