The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA, formerly RCIA) is the way adults enter into the life of the Catholic Church. But more than a program or a class, it is a journey of conversion—a path of coming to know Jesus Christ, His Church, and the life He offers His followers.

You do not need to have everything figured out. You only need the willingness to begin.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND OCIA CLASSES?

This is for you if…

  • You have never been baptized
  • You were baptized in another Christian tradition and are considering becoming Catholic
  • You were baptized Catholic but never confirmed or catechized
  • You are simply looking to learn more about the Catholic faith

If you are unsure where you fall, we will help you discern your next step.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT OCIA CLASSES?

We begin with a period of inquiry, where you can:

  • Ask questions freely
  • Learn the basics of the faith
  • Get to know the community

There is no pressure and no commitment at this stage.

For those who continue, the journey includes:

  • Weekly gatherings for teaching, discussion, and prayer
  • Formation in Sacred Scripture, the Catechism, and the life of grace
  • Participation in the liturgical life of the Church
